About the Eco Stay & Experience
Where stillness, sound, and nature recalibrate your inner world
Welcome to a sanctuary crafted for those who seek more than a place to stay — a home created to retreat into solace, commune with friends, or let new ideas spark.
Perched atop a quiet hill surrounded by forest, farm, and village life, The Alchemist’s Manor overlooks the serene Sattal Lake — a bird-lover’s paradise and a refuge for the soul. Mornings begin with golden sunrises and a warm cup of chai; evenings melt into soft, peach-coloured sunsets that paint the valley below. Each season reveals a new vista, and each day carries its own quiet beauty. Combined with locally sourced, seasonal meals served from our happy kitchen, everything here is designed to slow you down in the most meaningful way.
Thoughtfully designed by award-winning architects and peppered with experiences curated by the alchemist, your host, the home features three serene bedrooms, sunlit living spaces, a peaceful patio, a garden lawn, and forest trails that invite you to wander, pause, breathe, and simply be. It’s intimate, it’s quiet, and it’s crafted with intention — ideal for adults seeking a refined and restful getaway.
This is the place to leave your routines behind, switch off from the noise, and step back into your inner rhythm. Come solo or with your partner for a much-needed reconnect. Or gather your closest friends, pour a drink, and walk down memory lane — this home was made for easy laughter, late-night conversations, and unhurried joy.

This property scores 4.8/5 on MylocalDost’s Sustainable Criteria — a reflection of its commitment to conscious living. From supporting local livelihoods to protecting nature, every choice here is creating real, lasting impact. Here’s How:
Supports Local Communities & Cultures
Our entire team is proudly local, shaping every stay with genuine insight and warm hospitality. We source all food, crafts, and services from our community, uphold fair wages, and celebrate regional culture through events and artisan partnerships. Your visit uplifts local talent and keeps tradition alive.
Green Environment & Biodiversity Conservation
The property thrives in nature with rich green cover and mindful care. We support tree planting, offer biodiversity trails, and welcome guests into living landscapes. Built entirely with mitti and wood, our spaces reflect true sustainable architecture that protects the environment and nurtures every ecosystem around us.
Air & Water Quality
Water use is managed with care. Our surplus system sends nothing to waste through full greywater treatment and reuse. With abundant water on site, we keep it that way by cycling 100 percent back into the system and encouraging guests to use water freely, knowing every drop returns.
Waste Management
We sort all waste at the source, compost organics, and work closely with local recyclers and waste pickers. Single use plastics are greatly reduced, and reusable items are repurposed. Every step keeps resources in use and waste out of the environment.
Temperature & Energy Management
We track every unit of energy used and rely on efficient lighting and appliances throughout the property. Most of our power comes from renewable sources. Spacious rooms, large windows, and earthy architecture bring in natural light and air, reducing energy use every day.
Travel & Transportation
The property sits a one kilometer hike from parking, creating a quiet setting with zero noise and vehicular pollution. Stays unfold on foot through calm paths, walks, and scenic trails. Shared taxis are available for easy access, keeping travel light and low impact from start to finish.
Food & Guest Experience
Guests dive into nature and culture through village walks, guided bird watching, basket weaving, and scenic treks while mud building sessions add a playful touch. Every experience is crafted to deepen your connection with the land and its people.
Education on Sustainable Living
Sustainable living shapes every moment here. Days flow with mindful comfort, natural materials, shared kitchens, quiet gardens, hiking trails, and wellness spaces that invite slow living. Guests unwind close to nature, enjoy low impact comforts, and embrace a lifestyle that feels simple, grounded, and deeply connected to the land.
