Living Local

You can engage in the following activities to get the most out of the place and live it like a local.

Renukaji Lake – Situated amidst lush green forests of Indian Himalayas, the surroundings of the Lake offers an excellent venue to tourists for the adventure sports like trekking and mountaineering. One can go for boating in this huge lake for a memorable experience.

Picnic by the river – Picnic by the Jalal river-side is an experiential dining. Sitting on chairs on the river bed with the water flowing just a hand-shake away; steaming, hot food laid on the table…it’s a moment that would be remembered by all.

Bhadolia Temple Waterfall – A mere km away from the property, this waterfall forms the backdrop for the local temple. During the monsoon, the waterfall swells and its roar can be heard for miles around. If you visit the temple and ring the bell, don’t be surprised if within minutes an army of monkeys clamber out of the rocks and wait for Prasad.

Village Hopping – You can also catch glimpses of village life where land, tradition and a slower pace are venerated even today. Spend sometime with a local family in their adobe and you would feel the warmth that is missing in the urban arrangements today.

Be Yourself – Spend time in solitude amidst the serene premises and write, create, narrate, sing, paint or compose for the artist in you.

Living Responsible

The following are the measures that the local dost has adopted to ensure tourism does not impact the place and boost Responsible Tourism.

  • 100% local staff – Empowering rural lives by giving them the opportunity to host travellers and earn a living directly.

  • Local food – Relish the authentic cuisine which is made of fresh farm-picked ingredients to ensure healthy living.

  • Energy Efficient Lights – Accommodation is equipped with energy efficient lights to ensure minimum load on the power grid.

  • Rainwater Collection – The host has a rainwater harvesting setup in place to reduce demand on ground water, flooding and erosion.

  • Waste Management – One needs to dispose plastic in the dustbins available in the premises and need to take back the waste in case of bulk plastic waste. Bio-waste is taken care by the local dost for the purpose of farming.
