Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand – the land of Ganges, has a highly varied geography with snow-covered peaks, glaciers, deep canyons, roaring streams, beautiful lakes, and a few patches of plains in the south. Some of the highest mountains in the world are found in Uttarakhand, such as Nanda Devi, Kamet and Badrinath. Nanda Devi has the second largest glacier deposit after Antarctica. Uttarakhand is majorly divided into Garhwal and Kumaon, and both are rich in landscape, culture, food and festivals, which attract heavy influx of tourists. Yet, the irony is that a lot of locals who are the real stake-owners of the place migrate from their homeland in search of livelihood. MylocalDost strives to give the driver’s seat of tourism activities to the locals so that they are directly benefited from the tourism industry and at the same time, offer unique, unheard and authentic experiences to the evolving travellers.
